Nothing is more American than spending the 3rd of July in my hometown. I was lucky enough to share it with my friend Cesar, who has seen every state in this country. It was interesting to see the typical Kaysville 4th of July through the eyes of a newcomer. We watched the parade (family in the parade, sat with family watching the parade), had lunch at Taco Time, played on the big bouncy slides (no charge) and watched the city's production of Seussical the Musical before heading to the country club for a fantastic buffet and fireworks.
This morning, as I am packing for our journey to the Liberty Bell, Faneuil Hall and the Pentagon, I am so grateful that we celebrated big on the 3rd and now we have the 4th to relax and ponder what it was we were celebrating.
