Leaving Izzy

We landed yesterday evening 45 minutes early but spent that plus another 30 on the Tarmack. We stood in a crowd for another 30 waiting for our bags and 20 in line for a cab. It was a pretty long drive to Brooklyn from JFK. Phew. So happy to be here!

We spent this morning getting Izzy settled in at Pratt. She is so excited to begin this journey. The boys were troopers during the whole check-in/shopping process and had just a few meltdowns. My favorite was when Henry threw water on Colin at breakfast. Lucky for me, I have quick hands and grabbed the glass before we got everyone in the cafe drenched. I think the highlights for the boys were the cool shopping cart escalator at Target and the cat roaming the halls of the Engineering Building.

After we left Izzy at orientation, we went to the hotel and jumped on the beds for a while, then went for a late lunch. The boys wanted to go back to the room for more bed jumping but I proposed that we go get on the subway and see where it takes us! We jumped on a train that I thought was taking us to Manhattan and it took about 10 minutes for me to realize we were headed the opposite direction so we decided to check out Coney Island.

It was refreshing to walk along the boardwalk with that nice ocean breeze. The kids played some games, rode some rides and generally had a chill afternoon. On the ride back Colin took a nap so he is having a hard time going to sleep tonight. I think it is time to turn out the lights.
